Introduction: The AI-Powered Creator

If you publish anything on the internet today, whether it's a well-researched blog post or a TikTok video clip, you might've noticed that "successfully" crafting high-quality content requires consistent efforts in these 3 areas:

  1. Coming up with interesting and often unique ideas that you think will resonate with your audience.
  2. Writing an engaging script to communicate that idea and maybe accompanying it with visuals, graphics, audio etc.
  3. Marketing — be it SEO, social media, or email campaigns, to ensure your work actually shows up on search results and is discoverable.

A person working solo or in a small team as such, has to wear multiple hats: a researcher, writer, designer, developer, and marketer. Each role requires specialized skills, which often leads to a chaotic mix of subscriptions and platforms.

The development of artificial intelligence over the past 3 years is now acting as a boon for such people. In 2025, as a content creator, your biggest competitor is the AI assistants used by your counterparts. More than unique ideas, the race is about executing them faster and better than others competing for the same audience space.

But in the myriad of AI tools available, how do you choose the right ones, minimise the multiple subscriptions and ensure that the cost doesn't balloon up?

More than just another "Top 10 AI Tools" list, the purpose of this article is to help you build a "Smart AI Stack"—a workflow of AI tools tailored to your specific needs. We’ll see that with careful selection, one can achieve this for less than the daily cost of a cup of coffee (though black coffee, of course, remains essential!😀).

Large Language Models (LLMs)

These text-based platforms are like the Swiss army knives of AI tools. They can quickly draft blog outlines, create scripts for your next online video, write code snippets, produce captions for social media posts, or infuse your webpages with SEO keywords.

There are already dozens of LLMs, each with their own different models and versions. Some are exceptional at long-form writing, some for reasoning and some for research. Many are now multimodal and can handle images and code too.

One of my go-to platforms to identify the best product for different use-case and test myself is a leaderboard like LM Arena. You give prompts and directly pit two models in a versus battle, you can vote afterwards which model performed best for your query. (Please note that the prompts you give there are not private, you can use that platform for free for testing various models yourself but do not put any sensitive information)

Based on their results, popularity and my own experience, here are some models I'd recommend. I've also included free & open-source choices as well so that students and budget creators can also build a very capable workflow.

Model Strengths Weaknesses Budget
ChatGPT by OpenAI Consistently highly ranked on leaderboards, general writing, coding, good instruction-following Can hallucinate; premium features like custom GPTs behind subscription Free tier; paid plans start at $20/month
Google Gemini Pro Good context understanding, integration with Google services, excels in content creation and coding tasks availability/limits vary by account region; limited accessibility outside google Free access with limitations; premium plans vary
Claude Sonnet & Opus by Anthropic Creative writing, storytelling, excellent reasoning and coding Higher latency at times; Opus model is heavily rate limited with free usage Free tier; plan starts at $17/month
GLM (General Language Model) By Zhipu AI Completely free, open-source, good at coding and reasoning Still maturing, Limited accessibility outside the official chat platform Free
Kimi K2 by Moonshot AI good at reasoning and coding, long-context support

*The open source Kimi K2 can be downloaded from this Hugging Face link. The one with the web chat interface, while free, is proprietary and not the same as the open source model.
Newer ecosystem; regional differences in access and performance Free

Some other very capable models worth exploring are Grok by xAI (known for its real-time access to X/Twitter data and rebellious personality) and Alibaba's Qwen series (another strong open-source competitor).

If you do need to subscribe to any model, check the "bundler options" (like Poe) we'll explore later in this article. You can get not one but all of the above and many more at a reduced cost.

Canva's AI Magic Studio

While an engaging text is important, it's the visuals that stop the scroll and captivate a casual viewer’s attention.

As someone not very gifted with artistic skills myself, I find graphic design can often involve endless staring at a blank screen, hoping for inspiration.

Canva has simplified this process significantly. With thousands of templates and "millions" of assets, creating graphics is incredibly easy. I use it for approximately 90% of the images on this blog — they may not be perfect, but I often get pleasantly surprised by what I can create😀.

The Canva Pro subscription unlocks their "Magic Suite," a powerful collection of AI tools that can generate and edit images, create audio and video clips, write text content, and design unique email templates, among other functions.

Illustration of Canva with central logo, smiling man, and colorful icons for design, marketing, and social media content.
  • Image Tools: The platform already has millions of stock photos, you can further customize them or create entirely new ones. The magic media tool allows you to generate and edit images using text prompts.
  • Presentations: Generate complete presentations or social media campaigns from a single text prompt. The AI understands layout, typography, and color theory.
  • Video Tools: You can create animations, add synchronized audio, and even generate subtitles automatically. The handy beat sync feature automatically synchronizes your video cuts to music. However, if video is your primary concern then I’d suggest looking at the AI tools specifically for audio & video in the next section.
  • Social Media: The magic resize feature adapts your designs to different dimensions and platforms. This can let you create an Instagram post, and instantly generate versions for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and TikTok without starting from scratch.
  • Brand Kit: Upload your brand's colors, fonts, and logos. Canva's AI will then apply your branding across all generated designs for brand consistency.

You can start with the Canva for free and test the interface to see if upgrading will be worth it or not. The pro version costs $15/month and gives you access to above power tools and assets that would otherwise cost $50-$100 monthly if acquired separately.

Audio and Video Tools

For course instructors, podcasters, or TikTokers, the major challenge in production often lies in the presentation. Even with a good script, adding animations or interesting background music can make a world of difference.

The following AI tools can help you create such professional content. You can create realistic voice overs, edit/create video clips from text prompts, add special effects or even subtitles in multiple languages for your audience.

1. ElevenLabs

ElevenLabs can generate incredibly realistic human-like voices. You can either use their extensive library of pre-built voices or clone your own voice with just a few minutes of sample audio.

This AI is capable of understanding the context of the speech and automatically changes the tone accordingly — for example excitement or concern. As such, the platform excels at handling different content types, whether you need a professional corporate voice or a dramatic storytelling narration.

You can also generate voices in multiple languages while maintaining the same vocal characteristics.

2. Descript

Descript edits audio or video content by treating media files like text documents. You upload the content, and this AI automatically transcribes everything. You edit the transcription to edit the audio or video. For example, if you delete a sentence in the text, it removes that segment from the audio or video as well.

The platform also offers advanced features like Overdub, which allows you to create a text-to-speech model of your own voice. Hence you can generate new audio content without having to re-record your voice. This can be a handy utility for podcasters and online course instructors who have to update their content frequently.

3. Synthesia

Synthesia allows you to create professional-looking videos with AI-powered avatars. You type your script, choose an avatar (or generate one based on your own photograph) and a background, and the AI generates a video of the avatar speaking your script provided.

GitHub Copilot: For Developers

Unlike traditional coding assistants that offer syntax highlighting and basic autocomplete, today we’ve many AI assistants that can be integrated right into our IDE and which can do a whole lot of things.

Copilot by Microsoft is one such product, but there are others as well (see below). These AI assistants have come a long way in recent years. Today the biggest advantage of using them is, even if your application’s code is splintered across various files, these AIs can understand the full context of your project structure.

As such, you can ask them to further build upon it, write unit tests, detect logical bugs you might’ve overlooked, and suggest security best practices.

With Copilot, you can use various AI models like GPT, Gemini, Claude Sonnet, Grok etc. The tool operates in several distinct modes, each optimized for different development scenarios.

  • Autocomplete mode provides intelligent suggestions as you type, for example, you type in a function name and the AI instantly suggests the function's body (assuming your function name is descriptive enough).
  • Edit mode allows you to explicitly describe changes you want to make to an existing file. I often use Gemini or Claude Sonnet for this, as they imo retain your style of writing.
  • The Agent mode takes this further by allowing Copilot to edit multiple files within your development environment. I don’t use this mode tbh but from what I’ve seen, Sonnet understands context better when editing multiple files.
  • Finally, the integrated chat editor provides an Ask Mode, through which you can ask general questions just like to any other LLM.

You can use different AI models in different modes. Some are free, some are only available with paid versions up to a limit.

Copilot is available as a plugin for popular IDEs like Visual Studio Code, JetBrains, and even in the browser. It also seamlessly integrates with GitHub, can analyze pull requests or suggest improvements before the code is merged.

Noteworthy Alternatives

  • Cursor: Many developers prefer Cursor over Copilot. Though most of its features are similar to Copilot, the editor is built from scratch around AI. It offers a more deeply integrated experience for developers who want their entire workflow to be AI-first.
  • Windsurf (previously Codeium): Can be integrated into IDEs, fast completions, decent free tier, and the Windsurf AI-first editor for deeper agentic workflows.
  • Tabnine: Privacy‑friendly completions with on‑device or self‑hosted options; good for teams that need data control.
  • Amazon Q Developer: Strong AWS integrations, infra-as-code help, and security‑minded guidance in IDEs like VS Code and JetBrains.

Perplexity Pro: For Power Users

Every content creation project starts with research. Backing your claims with data is the safest way to build credibility. For power users who want original well-researched content, backed by data and citations, Perplexity is a must-have tool.

Perplexity acts like a research assistant that searches the web, finds key information, and presents it as a clear, well-structured answer with sources. It saves you time by gathering insights from multiple places and organizing them for you.

The platform's ability to understand your intent and suggest follow-up questions makes it ideal for deep research sessions. You can start with a broad topic and then progressively narrow down into specific aspects.

  • Deep Research: Utilize Perplexity to research trending topics in your niche. Every answer includes source links, allowing you to double‑check facts before publishing.
  • Comprehensive Media Research: Perplexity can analyze images, understand visual content, and provide insights about multimedia materials. This includes graphs, charts and statistics, which are often crucial for data-driven content.
  • Content Creation: After you finish your research, you can ask any of the built-in AI models to transform your findings into a clear, engaging script. And the first draft for your next blog post or LinkedIn video is 70-80% already complete, saving you most of the effort and letting you focus on polishing your content.

Perplexity Pro is priced at $20 per month. This paid subscription gives you access to multiple top AI LLMs like the latest Sonnet, Gemini, Grok and GPT models, along with Perplexity's own specialized models like Sonar and Perplexity Labs.

Having access to multiple top AI models through one subscription eliminates the need to maintain separate accounts with different providers, significantly reducing both costs and complexity.

Poe: The Ultimate All-in-One AI Hub

Poe by Quora can give you the maximum versatility among all the tools discussed so far. It is a comprehensive umbrella platform that brings together virtually every major AI tool and model under one subscription.

Unlike other platforms that specialize in specific tasks, Poe offers creators and developers access to an unprecedented collection of over 100 AI models! These models cover writing text or code, image creation, video production, and voice synthesis.

Poe has recently launched an API that allows developers to integrate these AI models directly into their applications using OpenAI-compatible endpoints. And at no extra cost.

Pricing: The platform works on a point based system. Instead of paying separate subscriptions for each AI service, users purchase points that can be spent on any model on the platform. Each AI interaction costs a specific number of points depending upon the model used and number of tokens.

The subscription starts at just $5/month, which gives you 10000 points daily or nearly 300,000 monthly. The next $20/month plan offers 1 million points monthly.

To give you an idea, as of this writing, each interaction with GPT-5 costs a minimum of 401 points, though this changes frequently.

There are other upper tiers as well and the highest one goes up to $250/month offering 12.5 million points monthly, targeting enterprises. For most creators however, the starting 2 plans are sufficient.

Consider that individual subscriptions to ChatGPT Plus ($20/month), Claude Pro ($20/month), MidJourney ($30/month), and other specialized tools could easily exceed $100/month. Poe's $20/month plan provides access to all these tools plus dozens more, with usage-based pricing that ensures you only pay for what you actually use.

Advanced Tools

Once you’ve got the basics covered, there are some advanced tools that can help you reach more people, optimize your workflow, and even collaborate better with your team.

The tools in this section are for people like marketing professionals or content creators who’ve already started seeing some traction. These are also more expensive than the other tools mentioned in this article. As such, one can safely skip this section if they're just getting started.

  • Jasper AI: Unlike other types of AI writers like LLMs, Jasper is trained specifically on high-ranking web pages and proven marketing copies. What this means is, it not only knows how to write but also how to write content that actually converts. Like convincing product descriptions, social media posts with high engagement potential, and email campaigns that drive sales. Great for marketers and power users who have to write sales pitches, landing pages, newsletters, run e-commerce stores etc.
  • SurferSEO: A data-driven SEO assistant. Surfer scans the top-ranking pages for your chosen keyword and shows you exactly what terms, headings, and content structure give you the best shot at outranking them. This way, you can follow a more data-driven approach so that your websites rank high on search engines. It also integrates with Google Search Console to provide real-time insights into your website's performance.
  • NeuronWriter: Another SEO tool but with a different approach. This is an NLP powered content optimization tool. The focus on natural language helps create content that engages readers while performing well in search results. NeuronWriter helps you plan and structure articles by analyzing search intent, semantically related keywords, and competitor pages. It’s particularly useful if you’re building authority sites or want your blog posts to perform better over time.
  • Notion AI: Notion itself is a powerful workspace for notes, tasks, and project management. With Notion AI baked in, you can summarize long documents, extract action items from meeting notes, draft emails, and brainstorm ideas right where your team already works. Very useful if you work in a team or in collaboration with others.

Personal recommendation: Start simple. Free versions of ChatGPT, Gemini Pro or Perplexity with their deep research tools are also good for researching about SEO and other things early on. Once your project starts generating a good revenue or organic traffic becomes a priority, then investing in a tool like SurferSEO can be considered.

According to a Wondercraft report, Over 80% of creators and developers are already using AI tools in their workflow with nearly half of them using AI throughout the entire content creation lifecycle.

And there are good reasons for doing so. Recent industry reports suggest content creators using AI tools throughout are seeing a 77% increase in output in just six months with more than 3.5 times more variety in their content.

Start by identifying the biggest bottlenecks in your current workflow. Is it coming up with new ideas? Creating graphics and visuals? Or struggling with getting views despite crafting top-notch content? Specific AI tools can provide targeted solutions for each challenge.

For instance, an online teacher can start by drafting lesson scripts with ChatGPT, voice overs using ElevenLabs, slides and visuals in Canva, and finally stitch everything together into a video using Descript. What could normally take days can be accomplished in a couple of hours.

Fortunately, building such an AI stack is surprisingly very affordable. As you can see from the table above, even with 2-3 strategic subscriptions and under $50/month, you can cover a wide range of premium tools that can cover the entire content creation process. Tools like Jasper or SurferSEO are comparatively expensive, however the total cost can still be kept under $100/month or $3.3/day — that's a full production studio for the price of your daily coffee!

Remember that while AI can remove the friction in your workflows, your unique insights and creativity are irreplaceable. Always infuse your personal touch into the content you create. This will be the biggest differentiator.
